LIBRARY RESOURCE CENTRE
Centre A has a small but growing library of books with a focus on Asian art. Special features of the library include the Finlayson Collection of rare books on classical Chinese and Japanese art, a collection of rare catalogues and monographs pertaining to contemporary Asian Canadian art, and books designed by artists. The library is catalogued in a computer database and available to the public for educational and research purposes. Contact us to book an introductory appointment with our Library Coordinator. Artist files As another component of the resource centre, there is a growing collection of artist files whose work falls within the mandate of the centre. Each artist file contains samples of their work, CV, press clippings and relevant biographical information. If you are a visual artist and would like to have information about your art practice on file, please refer to the documents below: Guidelines for Submitting Documents in Electronic Form Archives 1) Ephemera: Centre A has been collecting art-related ephemera relating to contemporary Asian art at the local, national, and international scope. Exhibition invitations, postcards, leaflets, and newsletters have been sorted according to city, province and country, and region. 2) Media: The Media Archive is a collection of videos, audio interviews and talks, slides, press clippings, and documentation relating to Centre A history. Also available for perusal is the digital image archive, which contains photographs relating to exhibitions, programs, and events at Centre A. Publications Exchange Centre A partners with art galleries and various art institutions at the local and international level to exchange publications, which are then indexed into the library. If you are interested in initiating a publications exchange, please contact us. Publications Available for Exchange
