VOLUNTEERS
Centre A strives to attract and involve a diverse and multi-skilled volunteer work force. Our volunteers insure that the Centre A continues to provide engaging art experience to the public, through exhibitions, public and educational programs and in-house library.
VOLUNTEER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES
As a non-profit art organization, Centre A depends on volunteers to achieve the organization's mandate to maintain artistic and scholarly standards, connect communities, provide creative opportunities, explore new technologies and integrate art, culture, economy and social development. To prepare volunteers to participate in this mandate, Centre A provides guidance and support for volunteer positions. Volunteers are involved in duties such as audience interaction, opening receptions, library resource acquisition, media documentation, publication exchange, etc.
How to participate
There are three ways you can participate as a volunteer:
- Event-based volunteers. Event based volunteers assist with exhibition openings, artist talks, fundraisers, installation and other special events based on the gallery's schedule.
- Regular volunteers. Regular volunteers work on a variety of specific projects on a weekly basis. We require a commitment of 4 hours a week for at least 8 weeks.
- Co-op students. Please check with your school about the possibility of obtaining course credit through practicing your co-op at Centre A.
We are currently seeking both types of volunteers. Give us a call or come visit us. You can also fill out this Volunteer Application Form online and send it back to us.
