Wikpedian-in-Residence 2026

Centre A welcomes researcher Idris Pasaribu as our Wikipedian-in-Residence until March 21. During this period, Idris will be contributing to Wikipedia with research drawn from Centre A’s library and archive. Her research focuses on artist collectives in Vancouver and Indonesia. Come meet Idris at Centre A’s upcoming Wikipedia how-to-edit workshops, and Wikipedia edit-a-thon in the coming months.

Idris is a researcher and educator from Indonesia living in Vancouver. She has done extensive work on creating queer BIPOC art collectives during her time in Ottawa. She has also done performance art work in the past decade and she has sometimes delved in textile art as a personal art practice. Her research interests are about art collectivism. She is also interested in popular education work and has developed and delivered many workshops and lectures over the years, on topic ranging from anti-oppression concepts to basic research methods to art history.

The Wikipedian in Residence program is generously supported by The Wikimedia Foundation.
