The deadline to apply is <\/span><b>July 29, 2024<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, 11:59 PM PT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Position Summary:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reporting to the Artistic Director, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Communications Officer will support various marketing, branding, outreach, and stakeholder engagement activities related to Centre A. The Communications Officer will also have the opportunity to assist with the organization of public programs and other community initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Communications Officer will be responsible for raising awareness about Centre A&#8217;s exhibitions, programs and facilities through a combination of marketing campaigns, community outreach, and online engagement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to learn all aspects of gallery operations and non-profit management working with a close-knit team in a supportive environment. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about connecting with people and fostering relationships with partner organizations, local committees, and media.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b> Key Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Working with the Centre A team, assist in preparing a wide range of communication materials for internal and external use, including marketing materials and copywriting for print, online, and social media platforms<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participating in the development and implementation of communications and audience engagement strategies for promoting Centre A exhibitions and programs to individuals, groups, cultural institutions and businesses across Metro Vancouver, particularly in and around the Chinatown neighborhood<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Writing and sourcing content for bi-weekly e-newsletters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Planning, developing and executing community presentations, outreach activities and events<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintaining the gallery website with updated exhibition, programming and other relevant information<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assisting in the enhancement of audience engagement by developing and administering program evaluation surveys, conducting focus groups, compiling data and analyzing results<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Researching, compiling, and cultivating media contacts<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Updating and maintaining a database of existing and prospective stakeholders and supporters, including members, donors, volunteers, community partners and media contacts<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting day-to-day gallery operations and providing administrative support to the senior staff<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assisting with grant writing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other duties as assigned<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><b> Key Qualifications:\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An undergraduate or graduate degree with a major in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, Publicity, Design, Journalism, or related field of studies<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A mindful approach to design and content creation, not producing content for content\u2019s sake<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong verbal and written communication skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong creative and graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite) are required<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Superior time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, and as part of a team<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proficiency with computers and MS applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Familiarity with social media platforms and management tools beyond personal use<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strong sense of equity and sound understanding of accessibility<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience with web design, and audio\/video production is an asset<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"
