Centre A invites participants to our virtual and in-person Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon<\/strong>. We are collaborating with the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery<\/a> to bring forth stories that too often go unacknowledged in the art world. Help balance the imbalance by creating and editing Wikipedia articles about women, LGBTQ2S+, gender non-binary, people of colour, Black and Indigenous artists, curators, and organizations as well as feminist and activist art movements. In this event, we would like to focus on feminism through an intersectional lens that acknowledges a multiplicity of lived experiences including, race, class, privilege, disability, and sexuality.<\/span><\/p>\n Please join us in reconsidering representation and community in the open-source knowledge platforms. We will provide help for beginner Wikipedians, reference materials, and technical support for making your edits.<\/span><\/p>\n Centre A strongly encourages individuals with diverse backgrounds and narratives to participate.<\/span><\/p>\n —<\/p>\n Join Centre A for the following virtual and in-person events throughout the month of March!<\/span><\/p>\n Saturday, March 12, 2022, 12 – 1 PM PST: Virtual Workshop: How to Navigate Centre A’s Database Workshop The Reading Room and library at Centre A began in 1999 with contributions from artists, researchers, and curators both locally in Vancouver and internationally.
