Centre A Expansion: Our New Home

Welcome to the new Centre A:

We’re excited to announce Centre A’s move to a 3300 sq ft space on the 2nd floor of the Sun Wah Centre in Vancouver’s Chinatown. This move more than doubles the size of our current facilities! With a renewable 10+10+10-year lease on this new space, Centre A will make its home at 268 Keefer for the next generation.

Thanks to your support, our move establishes:
• the capacity for multiple simultaneous exhibitions, keeping the gallery open year-round
• a separate, purpose-built reading room to house our library, including the Finlayson Collection of Rare Asian Art Books
• the first long-term home for the only public gallery in Canada devoted to contemporary Asian art

We will be hosting an orientation to the new space during our next AGM on Friday, December 8th at 6 pm.
Open to Centre A members, the AGM will include a discussion of the gallery’s future at 268 Keefer, voting in of new board members, and an announcement of the design team leading our expansion project over the next year.
